Calabria is known to be the land of clementines. Here some of the most appreciated and exported clementines in the world are produced, especially in the Piana di Sibari, where the morphology and climate make the area perfect for cultivation.
But what makes this fruit so special?
Calabrian clementines are rich in vitamin C, two clementines would be enough to cover the daily requirement of an adult man. They also have a unique, sweet and juicy flavour, which makes them almost impossible not to be appreciated when eaten raw, but their use can go much further: in fact, they are excellent in the preparation of juices, sorbets, jams, syrups, liqueurs, as well as desserts like pies or cakes.
